A new umpire/ adjudicator/ scorer brought new rule interpretations to the rain-delayed Road Bowls match at Nariel Creek Folk Festival 2018.
Mick O brought the unique Uranquinty -style rules to the match played on the morning of 1 January 2019 instead of the usual December 31.
"Them" captained by Julie beat "Us", captained by Dannie. Due to the complexities of the new umpire's scoring system , "Them" won by an indeterminate margin.
The campsite suffered a "mini-cyclone" a few days earlier with a burst of high winds and torrential rain, which delayed the match and left puddles and mud over areas of the road bowls course.
