Game date: 24 April 2011
The first road bowls match to be played at a "Canberra-era" National Folk Festival ended in a draw between Antrim, captained by Eugene M, and Armagh, head by Sean Mc.The two teams of six members each played an exciting game, staged as a demonstration match to return the Victorian folk tradition to a national audience. This appears to be the first road bowls match played at a National festival since a game was played at the National Folk Festival in Melbourne in the 1980s, according to our correspondent Barb Scott. At the Canberra National, Armagh finished the course with the least number of throws - 27 to Antrim's 26 - but after the umpire accounted for extras, the match was declared a draw.
Throw of the match went to Gerard for a remarkable throw through the the chicanes.
Played on Easter Sunday, 24 April 2011, the course included roads around the Festival site and the Summernats drag strip.
