Road bowls has expanded its reach further with introduction of the game to the Newstead Live Music Festival on Sunday 24 January 2011.

Road bowls is now a regular game at the Nariel Creek Folk Festival, the Yarra Junction Fiddlers’ Convention, various NSW festivals and with a possible game at this month’s Blackwood Fiddlers’ Convention.

For the Newstead game, an enthusiastic group of regulars and newcomers enjoyed a short demonstration match around the dirt roads of Newstead close to the wine tent venue.

The match was won by the “Locals and Friends” team captained by Duncan from Guildford, beating the “Visitors” team captained by Eugene from Heathcote. John O’L umpired the match.
